In line with Mental Health Awareness Week (May 15-21), Hope Capital are proud to announce its people manager’s team have qualified as Mental Health First Aiders.
The short-term lender’s people manager’s team carried out their training with the support of Evolving Mindset, a local organisation which provides mental health wellbeing courses and training for individuals, groups, schools and businesses in Merseyside and around Liverpool.
Having completed the course a few weeks ago, Hope Capital wanted to first communicate this to its team and ensure all the tools and resources were in place internally before sharing the announcement publicly.
The course involved nine members of the Hope Capital team undergoing extensive training around mental health and personal wellbeing with a holistic approach, which will be instrumental in supporting the wider team in the business moving forward.
Kate Cowan, Chief Financial Officer at Hope Capital, commented: “As it’s Mental Health Awareness Week at the moment, we thought what better timing to make our announcement. With so many of us now qualified as Mental Health First Aiders, it’s really reassuring to know our team can reach out to whoever they feel most comfortable with. The course was extremely insightful, covering numerous important topics, which now enables us to have the knowledge and confidence to guide colleagues to the appropriate professional support if needed.”
Jonathan Sealey, CEO at Hope Capital, added: “At Hope Capital, we have always prioritised our open-door policy, where we want our team to feel comfortable and supported if they need to discuss any issues they are struggling with, whether they relate to the business or not. We are a very close-knit team, so this is extremely important to us.
“By now having multiple qualified Mental Health First Aiders throughout the business, this shows our commitment to promoting mental health and wellbeing at Hope Capital, and I’d like to say a huge thank you to the team at Evolving Mindset for their training.”
Phil Noon, Director at Evolving Mindset, said: “What an amazing day delivering our Mental Health training to Hope Capital. Each participants had such a passion for creating a psychologically safe working environment for their teams. Such a forward-thinking organisation with incredible values that you could feel at every layer of the organisation.”
